Assistant coach Wolde Harris dedicates TFC win to his late father
With Robin Fraser suspended, Harris took charge of Toronto FC and helped guide them to a huge road win on Saturday.
Toronto FC gave its playoff hopes a major shot in the arm with its 2-0 victory over the New York Red Bulls on Saturday at Sports Illustrated Stadium in Harrison, New Jersey.
But for assistant coach Wolde Harris, the result had extra special meaning after his father passed away last month.
“My dad passed [away] a couple weeks ago. He never got to see me coach at this level, and so for me, it has a big personal significance because I'm dedicating this [win] to him. He was a footballer, a legend in MSU, a legend in Jamaica. So, for me, that part of it is kind of emotional,” Harris said in the post-match press conference.
