Reader mailbag: Did Italian DP saga distract TFC this season?
By all accounts, Toronto FC dealt with the uncertainty over the Italians without it becoming a major issue inside the locker room.

Here we go...
What do you think about what Matt Doyle recently wrote about Toronto FC: "Chances are they spend those two open DP slots on a No. 9 and a winger (with Djordje [Mihailovic] at the 10), but I’d honestly use one on a goal-scoring right winger, one on a 10, move Djordje to playmaking left wing, and trust youngsters Deandre Kerr and Jules-Anthony Vilsaint to do the job at the 9."

Whether Toronto FC has one or two open DP slots has yet to be determined. Teams have until the start of next season to declare which roster model – 2 DPs/4 U22s vs. 3 DPs – they plan to use. GM Jason Hernandez revealed this week that decision has yet to been made
"It’s nice to have the ability to do both. … What I feel very positive about is our ability to do either. And so, we have the capability to acquire two [DPs], we have the capability to acquire one and monitor how it goes and be ready again in the summer," Hernandez said.
