Random thoughts on TFC: More patience required with Reds' forwards

Some random thoughts I had on Toronto FC as the club prepares to host Atlanta United this Saturday...

Does TFC need to go out and sign a new forward?

Offensive production is a growing concern for Toronto, who has been limited to just eight goals through the first seven games of the season. Even more worrying from a TFC perspective is how the team's forwards have combined for just one goal – Deandre Kerr found the back of the net in the 1-1 draw against the Columbus Crew in the home opener on March 25.

Nashville SC has the best defensive record in MLS with just two goals against and five clean sheets in seven games, so last weekend’s game (a 0-0 draw) was always going to be a tough assignment for Toronto, especially on the road. Still, for all their possession and for all their long stretches where they controlled the match, TFC managed just three shots on target last Saturday in Tennessee. None of them came from Kerr (who started) or fellow forward Ayo Akinola (who replaced Kerr in the 63rd minute).
