Ex-TFC assistant GM Corey Wray making a splash in St. Louis

That's the story of current St. Louis City SC sporting director Corey Wray, who is one of the most respected executives in MLS.
Wray, a 41-year-old from Mississauga, Ont., spent the bulk of his career at Toronto FC, having started out as an intern in 2006 before rising through the ranks to become Tim Bezbatchenko's right-hand man as assistant general manager in 2017.
Wray left TFC in 2020 to take a similar role under Bezbatchenko when he became president of the Columbus Crew. Wray also served as GM of the team's reserve side, Columbus Crew 2, in MLS Next Pro. Crew 2 won the league championship in its first campaign in 2022, and Wray was named the MLS Next Pro Executive of the Year that same season.
