Sept. 8, 2025: Mailula joins KV Kortrijk until next June
Toronto FC sends forward Cassius Mailula on loan to KV Kortrijk of Belgium's second division through June 30, 2026. KV Kortrijk has an option to exercise a permanent transfer for Mailula at the conclusion of the loan deal.
Quick analysis: It was only a matter of time before Cassius Mailula would be out the door again.
The South African forward returned to Toronto FC late last month after failing to secure a move to a new club. Mailula, 24, was sent on loan to Moroccan side Wydad Athletic Club in April 2024 with the option of a permanent transfer for when the loan ended in July. He had six goals and seven assists in 36 games for Wydad.
