In part 2 of a new video blog series for TFC Republic, I look back at key moments in the history of Toronto FC. Last week, I revisited the Reds' first playoff game in Montreal in 2015.
This week: TFC's first playoff win, at home against the Philadelphia Union on Oct. 26, 2016.
After bombing out in its MLS most-season debut the year before, Toronto FC had a point to prove when it hosted the Philadelphia Union in the first round of the 2016 playoffs. A lot of pressure was resting on the Reds' shoulders going into this match, as a lot of critics questioned whether they were for real after finishing fifth in the league table during the regular season.
The game against Philadelphia turned out to be the beginning of something special, as TFC earned its first ever playoff win and went on a magical run to the MLS Cup final.
