Toronto FC vs. D.C. United: 3 takeaways

Saturday was a day of milestones for Toronto FC, but one mattered more than the rest as the Reds earned their first victory of the season with a 2-1 decision over D.C. United.

TFC’s first victory under new coach Bob Bradley was secured, in part, via goals from Jonathan Osorio (his 50th in all competitions for the club) and Alejandro Pozuelo (his 25th). After stumbling through its first three games of the season and collecting just a single point, Toronto finally put together something resembling a complete performance, while showing a bit of character in coming from behind after going down after only 10 minutes.

“This is a big step for us. … This game is huge for us. We needed to get this, and the way we performed out there we deserved the three points,” Osorio said after the match.

Here are my three major takeaways from the game.
