There are a lot of similarities between Toronto FC’s Yeferson Soteldo and Mexican national team star Hirving “Chucky” Lozano.
Both are wingers who tend to play on the left side, but are keen to follow wherever their attacking instincts lead them on the pitch. Both are diminutive in stature and in their 20s. Both are dynamic attackers who are fearless in taking on defenders. Both are genuine game-breakers. Both can change the complexion of a match in an instant with an individual act of brilliance. And both left their homelands to seek bigger and better opportunities abroad and made it big.
Lozano was a star at CF Pachuca in Mexico’s Liga MX where he won a Clausura title, and a Concacaf Champions League crown when he claimed the Golden Boot as the top scorer (with eight goals) of the 2016-17 tournament.
