Yankee Stadium is a difficult place to earn points for visiting MLS teams, especially for Toronto FC.
Prior to this weekend, New York City FC had won 11 of its previous 13 games at their home, and had only lost three regular season games there dating back to the early part of the 2018 season. TFC have found life particularly difficult at Yankee Stadium, with just one win in eight visits.
So, Saturday’s 1-1 draw in the Bronx was a valuable road point for Toronto, its first of the MLS season, and allows Chris Armas to continue his project of rebuilding the team in his image since taking over from Greg Vanney
Here are my three major takeaways from the game.
