Raheem Edwards is back home, and he couldn't be any happier about it.

Let go by the New York Red Bulls in February after one season at the club, Edwards was almost immediately picked up off waivers by Toronto FC, a move that reunited the fullback and TFC youth academy graduate with his hometown team.

Edwards, 30, spent time with TFC 2 and debuted for Toronto FC in 2016 before signing an MLS contract the following year, becoming the 14th player in club history to graduate to the first team from the youth academy. The speedy fullback had one goal and six assists in 21 regular season appearances in 2017, while also winning an MLS Cup, Supporters’ Shield and the Canadian Championship with the Reds.

He looked to have a bright future ahead of him with Toronto, but just days after winning the MLS Cup, he was selected in the 2017 Expansion Draft by LAFC who turned around and traded to the Montreal Impact (now known as CF Montreal). In total, Edwards had one goal and eight assists in 27 appearances in all competitions for Toronto.
