Markus Cimermancic's 1st TFC goal 'a dream come true'
The youth academy product is the eighth different player to open his goal scoring account for Toronto FC this season.
Somewhat lost in the hoopla surrounding Toronto FC’s amazing come-from-behind result vs. Charlotte FC on Wednesday night was Markus Cimermancic writing his name in the club’s history books.
Cimermancic’s leveller in the 14th minute marked his first career goal in 14 appearances for Toronto FC since making his debut last season. In doing so, the young midfielder became the eighth different player to open his goal scoring account for TFC during the current MLS campaign.
For Cimermancic, 21, the goal was a long time in coming, having first joined Toronto’s youth academy in 2015 before cutting his teeth with TFC and eventually graduating to the senior team.
