Alonso Coello aims to be more of an attacking threat for TFC

Alonso Coello came of age in 2025 during his second full campaign with Toronto FC.

As the club's most successful TFC 2 graduate, Coello continued his upward trajectory this year with a goal and an assist, and set career highs in appearances (31), starts (24) and minutes (2,167) in a single MLS campaign.

Coello, 26, turned out to be one of the few bright spots for the Reds during their dismal season, providing full value for his modest wages ($235,012 US).

It was far from perfect from the Spaniard this year as he still makes the odd error in judgement. In the penultimate match of the season away to LAFC, Coello committed a bad gaffe that directly led to the opening goal of an eventual 2-0 loss. He was red carded later on in the same match.
