2025 in review: TFC's slim playoff hopes dashed in September

In part 8 of our special "Toronto FC year in review for 2025" series, TFC Republic looks back at the month of August.   

After a disastrous month of May, it seemed inevitable that Toronto FC would miss out on the playoffs for a fifth straight year. But it was made official in mid-September as the Reds' winless streak continued unabated.

Not even a credible draw against Lionel Messi and Inter Miami and BMO Field could put a positive spin on a month that saw TFC collect just three out of a possible nine points.
