In Luc de Fougerolles, Canada coach Jesse Marsch trusts
In a 1-on-1 interview, de Fougerolles discusses his journey from Fulham's youth academy to Canada's World Cup roster.
What a ride it's been for Luc de Fougerolles.
Still only 20, the England-born centre back has earned 13 caps for Canada since making his debut in 2024, and will more than likely add to those numbers at this summer's FIFA World Cup.
The son of a father from Montreal and an Iranian-born English mother, de Fougerolles joined Fulham's famous youth academy when he was seven, working his way up through the system before signing his first pro contract in 2023. He made his senior and professional debut for Fulham that year in a League Cup match, but that's been his only appearance for the Cottagers as he's dealt with injuries and was sent out on loan this past season.
In this one-on-one interview with TFC Republic, de Fougerolles talks about his start at Fulham, playing under Jesse Marsch, and much more.
