TORONTO – The march towards this summer’s FIFA World Cup continues for Canada with coach Jesse Marsch facing some very big roster decisions.
How much the latest international window will inform those decisions will be interesting to see, especially after his side battled to a 0-0 stalemate before an announced crowd of 22, 624 at BMO Field on Tuesday night.
Les Rouges closed out the March window with a pair of draws while recording their fourth clean sheet in their previous five outings. Marsch’s men are also unbeaten in five games.
While the defence is holding steady, the offence has had issues. If not for a pair of penalties converted by acting captain Jonathan David last week vs. Iceland, Canada would have failed to score across this month’s pair of friendlies. The Canadians looked dangerous in attack across these two games, but the final product was often lacking.
