  • Canada 0, United States 1 (Ellis 29’)
  • Canadians lose for 1st time in 3 matches since the World cup
  • TFC’s Laryea start for Canada; Corbeanu, Chukwu unused subs
  • Eustáquio subbed off at halftime with shoulder injury

All losses hurt but for Canada they’re especially painful when they come against the United States.

The Canadians largely outplayed their American counterparts in a drab affair between the Concacaf rivals but came out on the wrong end of 1-0 defeat on Tuesday night at Allianz Field in St. Paul, Minnesota.

The loss was Canada’s first in three games since returning to action following its round of 16 showing at this summer’s FIFA World Cup. Les Rouges opened this FIFA international window with a 1-0 win over Chile in Toronto and a 2-0 decision vs. Peru in Montreal.
