Canada vs. Netherlands: What you need to know

A 1-0 defeat away to Switzerland last Friday marked the first time that the Canadian women's team lost consecutive matches since 2024, prior to Casey Stoney’s appointment in January.

The game was Canada's first since early July – there were no FIFA international windows in August or September – so it wasn't the best way for Canada to make its return. Yet, Stoney wasn't overly concerned by the result and is hopeful her side can rebound this week.

"I'm actually really pleased with the fact that we created so many chances the other night. We haven't created chances like that in a long time, from in possession and also pressing," Stoney told reporters on Monday.

Here’s what you need to know about Tuesday's game between Canada and the Netherlands at the Goffertstadion in Nijmegen (2:45 p.m. ET/OneSoccer).
