FIFA break gives TFC a chance to rest before final season stretch

A busy summer that saw Toronto FC play nine games during a two-month period came to an end with Saturday’s come-from-behind 1-1 draw vs. CF Montreal at BMO Field.

Now it’s time for TFC to get a little bit of rest.

The latest FIFA international window runs from Sept. 1 to 9, which means MLS is largely on a break – the league doesn’t completely shut down as there are a few games this weekend. But the Reds don't have a match this week and will be off until Sept. 13 when they visit the New England Revolution (7:30 p.m. ET/Apple TV).

The two-week sabbatical gives TFC a chance to recuperate ahead of the final stretch of the regular season that will see them play six times from mid-September until Oct. 18.
