TFC adds defensive depth with signing of Luke Singh
The defender becomes the 26th player in franchise history to sign for the first team from the TFC Academy.
On the back of Luke Singh’s solid performance in his first appearances for the club, Toronto FC announced Friday evening that it has signed the young defender as a homegrown player through 2025.
In doing so, Singh, a 20-year-old native of Brampton, Ont., becomes the 26th player in franchise history to graduate to the first team from the TFC academy.
Singh recently inked a pair of short-term deals with TFC to play in both legs of the club’s round-of-16 series against Club León in the Concacaf Champions League. In his senior team debut, Singh came on as a late substitute in the opening match, a 1-1 draw in Mexico. A week later, he earned his first start and played the full 90 minutes of the return match, as the Reds earned a 2-1 win to advance to the quarter-finals.
