It took him a long time to find his way back to Toronto FC, but veteran centre back Doneil Henry has finally returned to where it all began.

Henry, a 29-year-old from Brampton, Ont., rejoined TFC on July 22 after being waived by LAFC earlier in the month, inking a deal that ties him to the Reds for the rest of the 2022 MLS season.

For Henry, this marks a long-awaited homecoming. TFC was where he cut his teeth as a teenager in the youth academy before turning professional. A lot has changed since Henry last played for Toronto in 2014. Jonathan Osorio and Michael Bradley are the only remaining teammates from his first tenure. But the affection he has for his hometown club never wavered.
