Random thoughts on TFC: Back to a familiar model for the Reds

Some random thoughts I had on Toronto FC as the team will be on a break until Sept. 16 when it hosts the Vancouver Whitecaps at BMO Field (7:30 p.m. ET/Apple TV).

Herdman-Hernandez relationship will be interesting to watch

John Herdman's official unveiling as Toronto FC's new coach this week marked a return to a management structure that was at the heart of the club's greatest period of success.

TFC was at its very best when GM Tim Bezbatchenko worked in concert with coach Greg Vanney in terms of identifying players and constructing the team's roster. Together, the duo built a team that is still considered one of the greatest in league history.
