Toronto FC took a nibble rather than a bite out of the Big Apple.
Down a goal after conceding early, TFC came from behind to earn a 1-1 draw vs. New York City FC at Yankee Stadium on Friday.
Toronto (3-7-8) squandered a chance to move up the table and instead remained in 12th in the Eastern Conference, while at the same time extending its winless run to 12 games – 13 in all competitions. The Reds' previous victory came in a 3-2 home decision over the Colorado Rapids on April 4.
"Every week we can’t fault the players’ effort. We come into some of these games and after the final whistle, we feel extremely exhausted and feel like we deserve more. ... That was our first game essentially with nearly a healthy roster, apart from a couple of guys that are just getting over their small injuries, and we haven't had that all year. A few more weeks of consistency with some training and some games and we're going to get there," DP midfielder Djordje Mihailovic said.
